Private Rehearsal Events

West Michigan Symphony rehearsals are private and generally closed to the public, however special arrangements can be made to have your organization, company, or gathering attend a Thursday evening rehearsal.  Prior arrangements must be made through the West Michigan Symphony Education and Community Engagement Department at 231 726-3231 ext. 31

Up Close with the West Michigan Symphony

Up Close with the West Michigan Symphony events look to bring our audience members Up Close through “Meet the Musician” and“Conversations with Scott Speck” gatherings.

Intending to deepen the relationships we have with our community and build new ones, the West Michigan Symphony will host these events four times a year in locations throughout West Michigan.

Meet the Musician:
Attendees will have the opportunity to spend time with a WMS musician.  The WMS
Musician will provide a short solo performance, take time to describe their background, professional development and performance history; then provide a question and answer period to round out the event.  Food and beverages provided.

Conversation with Scott Speck: An opportunity to meet the WMS Music Director and learn from Scott Speck.  Scott will discuss his career highlights, conducting skills, review sample scores, discuss the WMS, and allow for time for questions.  Food and beverages
provided.

Typical gathering size for each event is approximately 20-25 people. Event dates will be during the West Michigan Symphony concert seasonare by invitation.
