Instrument Petting Zoo

Can I really play the Cello?

What is a Baritone?

What is an African Gong?

Did you know a French Horn is 12 feet long when straightened?!

The West Michigan Symphony Instrument Petting Zoo is a hands-on musical instrument education program. Instruments from each of the four instrument families: Brass, String, Woodwind and Percussion; are introduced and children are able to handle and play each instrument during the 45-60 minute program. This educational music program is an exciting way to encourage young people to believe they have the ability to learn and play an instrument as they approach middle school band. Ideal for school classrooms, library summer programs, community events and children’s organizations.

VOLUNTEERS ARE REQUIRED!

Cost: $100 a visit
