West Michigan Favorite Edye Evans Hyde comes to The Block Sept. 25

Muskegon, Michigan, Aug. 31, 2015 – Jazz vocalist Edye Evans Hyde will be appearing at The Block, West Michigan Symphony’s alternative performance venue, Friday, Sept. 25.


This fall West Michigan favorite Edye Evans Hyde comes to The Block in downtown Muskegon. Hyde will deliver an evening of jazz favorites alongside her band which includes Terry Lower, piano; Michael Hyde, guitar; Ed Fedewa, bass; and another West Michigan favorite, Tim Froncek, on drums.


Regarding the program for the evening, Hyde said: “The show will consist of great jazz and maybe some cabaret tunes.” Hyde will also perform songs from her newest album “Magic in His Eyes” for which she was the recipient of the 2013 WYCE Jammie award. Among Hyde’s awards is also the 2012 Best Regional Artist by WEMU radio, a NPR station that features jazz music in the Ann Arbor area.


Edye Evans Hyde is also a theatrical performer having performed roles in “Barnum” and “Little Shop of Horrors” for Cherry County Playhouse as well as many area shows and cabarets. In fact, she has just founded a new theater company in Grand Rapids called Ebony Road Players.


Voted the 2011 Musician of the Year by the West Michigan Jazz Society, Edye Evans Hyde has been singing jazz, blues and pop music for over 30 years in West Michigan, Los Angeles, Asia and Europe. An accomplished jazz vocalist, Hyde has shared the stage with world-renowned blues singer Linda Hopkins, pop singer Michael Bolton, vocalist Maria Muldaur, actress Connie Stevens, the late Ray Charles, and Cuban trumpet player Arturo Sandoval.
