West Michigan Symphony education programs host “Strings, Sings, Moo, Zoo” Fundraising Event

MUSEKGON, MI – August 26, 2014 – West Michigan Symphony (WMS) will host a moo-sical fundraiser event for its music education programs called “Strings, Sings, Moo, Zoo” at Hampton Green Farm in Fruitport, 5440 E. Farr Road, Friday, Sept. 19, 5 to 9 p.m.

The evening will feature farm tours, a dinner catered by the Hearthstone restaurant, a show featuring the Hampton Green Farm show horses, and musical performances by the West Michigan Symphony children’s education programs, Debut Strings, Children’s Choir and Link Up.

“Arts education is a key ingredient for development of life skills,” Said Karen Vander Zanden, the organization’s education director. “This event will be a fun evening out where people can experience WMS arts education programs firsthand and support our efforts to keep music alive in our community.”

The Symphony’s music education programs include the Children’s Choir, Debut Strings, Click Clack Moosic, the Instrument Petting Zoo and Carnegie Hall’s popular recorder program for schools, Link Up. The programs are based at the WMS performance space at The Block in downtown Muskegon, and travel to area schools.

Tickets to “Sings, Strings, Moo, Zoo” cost $35 each or $40 at the door, and include tours, entertainment and dinner. Cash bar will be available. All are welcome.
