West Michigan Symphony Brings Two Evenings of Holiday Magic to Muskegon
Muskegon, Michigan, Oct. 29, 2014 – Friday, Dec. 12, West Michigan Symphony will play alongside Michael and Monique Creber for the holiday-themed program “Christmas Magic” at the Frauenthal Theater. The following evening the Crebers will present a holiday cabaret at the Symphony’s smaller venue, The Block, in downtown Muskegon.
Friday night’s concert at the Frauenthal welcomes guest conductor Clyde Mitchell, returning to the West Michigan Symphony following last year’s “Swingin’ Holiday Celebration.” This year’s concert titled “Christmas Magic” features soloist Monique Creber and pianist Michael Creber with special guests Michelle Creber and Gabriel Brown in a heart-warming festive family show of holiday favorites such as “Let it Snow,” “Winter Wonderland, ”and “What are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” Joining them will be the Norse Singers, a concert choir composed of 9th-12th grade students from North Muskegon High School and the WMS Children’s Choir, both under the direction of Beth Slimko.
When asked what excites them most about this concert, Monique Creber replied, “Singing my favorite Christmas music with my family along with my favorite conductor leading the beautiful sounds of a professional symphony orchestra – you simply can’t beat that!”
The next evening Monique and Michael Creber wrap up the musical holiday celebration with a performance of Christmas favorites titled “At Home: A Creber Christmas.” Joined by singing sensations Michelle Creber and Gabriel Brown, At Home is an “unplugged” performance of Christmas classics, originals, comedy and covers in an intimate house-party setting. Audiences are invited join the Creber family for great singing, beautiful harmonies, outstanding piano playing, plenty of audience interaction and guaranteed laughs Saturday, Dec. 13, @The Block 360 W.
