Ethan Adams - Trumpet

Ethan Adams is a regular freelance trumpet player in the Chicagoland area and a regional symphony musician operating in the greater Midwest region. He won the audition for 2nd trumpet with the West Michigan Symphony in May of 2023 and the autumn of 2023 marks his first season with the group. He has appeared in both pops and masterwork subscription concerts with the Quad City Symphony, the Evansville Philharmonic, and the Dubuque Symphony and is a substitute musician with the New World Symphony.

Ethan is also an avid chamber musician, having started the West End Brass in Nashville, Tennessee in 2018. As a part of West End Brass, Ethan was selected via competition to tour around Berlin, Germany and provide educational concerts and masterclasses to local music programs while also getting the chance to study with regular members of the Berlin Philharmonic. West End Brass has also won Continuous Motion Productions chamber recording competition and recorded a new work for brass quintet by composer Nicolas Townsend.

Ethan maintains a regular teaching studio in Chicago and has also worked with a number of school band programs in the Nashville and Chicago metro school systems in order to prepare for yearly assessments and competitions. He started his music education in the local school band program in Northwest Arkansas where he grew up. Ethan received his Bachelor of music degree from Vanderbilt University with Jose Sibaja and his Master of music degree from Northwestern University studying with David Bilger, Tom Rolfs, and Michael Sachs.
