WMS MOVES

Schools and students have had to adapt and remain flexible this past school year—and WMS has adapted right along with them! Launched in the spring of 2021, WMS MOVES is a new virtual education program and concert that provides teachers and students with flexible access to classical music education. Click the link above for a short preview.

WMS MOVES teaches students beginner music concepts via safe and socially distanced classroom activities and extensions. Bucket drumming to “When the Saints Go Marching In”; body percussion to Vivaldi’s Autumn from The Four Seasons, and hand waving to Summer—these are just a few of the activities helping to bring students into the concert experience. Hosted by Music Director Scott Speck and Director of Education Karen Vander Zanden, the concert flows easily and guides students and viewers through a moving musical experience. The virtual format allows for use in the classroom or in remote learning. For more information on how to bring this program to your school, contact Karen VanderZanden at 231-726-3231 ext. 231.
